Future of Water
A Water Literacy Programme for Students & Teachers
Al Muna International School
Customized environmental literacy curriculum & interactive student engagement.
SA'DA — Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Leading water treatment, desalination engineering & RO purifier systems.
Why a Water Programme Belongs in the Classroom
At age 10+, students are old enough to grasp real science and take on responsibility — and habits formed now are far easier to build than habits broken later as adults.
Vision 2030 Alignment
Environmental sustainability and youth empowerment are named national priorities — this programme gives both a concrete classroom activity.
Real Science, Not a Lecture
Desalination, filtration, and water chemistry connect directly to school science curricula — with hands-on demonstrations, not just slides.
Home & Family Impact
Students who understand water safety carry that awareness home, influencing household habits beyond the classroom.
Habits Form Early
A 12-year-old choosing a reusable bottle today is far more likely to keep that habit than an adult trying to break a bottled-water routine.
What the Evidence Actually Shows
plastic fragments found per litre of bottled water
average bottled water consumption per person in KSA — over double the global average
of Saudi Arabia's drinking water supply comes from desalination
Why this is a good teaching moment:
Saudi Arabia's tap water is desalinated and treated to national standards — so students can learn that the safer, cheaper, more sustainable choice is often already coming out of the tap. That's a concrete, locally relevant example of science and civic responsibility meeting in one everyday habit.
Where the School's Water Actually Comes From
Seawater Intake
Roughly 70% of KSA's municipal supply begins as seawater drawn at coastal desalination plants.
Desalination & Treatment
Reverse osmosis and thermal processes remove salt and contaminants to national potable standards.
Distribution Network
Treated water travels through national pipelines to reach schools and homes alike.
Live Classroom Demo
Students watch dirty water become drinkable in real time using a small RO unit — the 'aha' moment of the session.
Paired activity: a blind taste test comparing tap, bottled, and RO-treated water, with students guessing which is which.
SA'DA: Water Expertise, Not Just Awareness Messaging
This programme is delivered by a company that designs, builds, and maintains water systems — not a general awareness organization. Every demo and every fact in this session comes from our own operational experience.
Desalination
Design, construction, and operational experience in seawater desalination systems.
Water Treatment
Municipal and commercial water treatment, including filtration and quality testing.
RO Systems
RO purifier systems for homes, hotels, and hospitals — the same technology used in our demo.
Pools
Pool construction and maintenance, including ongoing water quality management.
We are proposing this session as the water-treatment experts — able to answer real student questions a generic assembly speaker couldn't.
Three Pillars — Built Around Students & Teachers
Journey of a Drop
Understand where school water comes from, how it's treated, and how RO/desalination work — through hands-on science, not a lecture.
Refill Revolution
Reduce single-use plastic bottle dependency across classrooms, the canteen, and school events.
Water Guardians
A small group of student ambassadors to be taken to an RO plant to experience it first hand.
What a 60-Minute Session Looks Like
The Hook
"Where does your tap water actually come from?" — a question, not a lecture opener.
Presentation
An introduction to what RO, filtration, TDS is.
Live Demo
Dirty-to-drinking RO demo, plus a blind taste test (tap vs. bottled vs. RO).
Quick-Fire Quiz
Live trivia on water facts, with small prizes for correct answers.
Lucky Winners
Free RO industrial visit for selected candidates.
What We're Asking For
Approval for access to video, audio devices and a Hall.
In a single grade or class, at no cost to evaluate the concept.
A Teacher Point of Contact
One teacher to help coordinate scheduling and nominate Water Guardians.
What SA'DA provides at no cost during the pilot:
Demo equipment and materials • TDS demo • reusable bottles for selected candidates • Water Guardians RO tour •
Every Drop Counts.
A focused, measurable water-literacy pilot for your students — grounded in what we actually do.
